A fascinating collection of memories of places and spaces from the people who love and live in Sheffield. Dear Sheffield is curated by renowned architectural historian and writer, Dr Steve Parnell, in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the Sheffield Society of Architects.
Over the course of 2013 people of Sheffield sent specially designed postcards to nominate their most memorable places and spaces, both past and present of the city. Inspired by the Eames’ House of Cards, 25 drawings, photographs, stories and poems have been blown up, slotted and stacked together to create huge free standing towers that is the Dear Sheffield exhibition. To add an interactive element free packs of pre-cut postcards are available for visitors to create their own unique objects so come and create your version of Sheffield’s architectural history.
