Future Factories

Future Factories – A Panel Debate

With industry moving swiftly towards automated production, personalised products and new materials what does the factory of the future look like? Is there still a place for the hand crafted, the small scale and human innovation or are we moving to machine intelligence?

This Question Time style debate will be a lively crucible of ideas from figures across the steel city and beyond. From industry, politics and academia and beyond and panelists will put forward their ideas on what the future holds and how we get there and open up discussion across the audience.

Panelists include Karsten Hojberg of Autodesk, Barry Sheerman MP, Emma Cooper, Oliver Coppard, Brian Reece, Elliot Brook and Chair: Prof. Phillip Jones.

The event includes a drinks and canapé reception hosted by the Crafts Council from 5.30pm ahead of the Future Factories evening panel debate from 6.20pm.

Future Factories is a debate led by the Parliamentary Design and Manufacturing Groups and hosted by MADE NORTH and Sheffield Design Week with support from The Crafts Council. Our venue partner is Electric Works, an ideal destination for any creative and digital business www.electric-works.net
